This museum began its work in the 1960s on land formerly known as Bukey Horde.
Bukey Horde Historical Museum is located on the territory, which in the 17th century was the headquarters of Jangir Khan, the last khan of the Bukey Horde. The complex includes four museums. They are dedicated to the history of the Bukey Horde, the history of the first school of Kazakhstan. Armory of the Khan's palace is also displayed here. Moreover, there are mausoleums of singer Dauletkerey Shygayuly, enlightener Mohamed Salyk Babajanuly and Jangir Khan.
The Bukey Horde Historical Museum is on the list of protected objects of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is of great interest to residents and guests of the West Kazakhstan Province.
