Lake Markakol is an amazingly beautiful place in Eastern Kazakhstan, known for its incredible landscapes, especially during sunset or dawn. It gained wide popularity and recognition among travelers thanks to its crystal-clear water. The lake is located in the nature reserve of the same name. The landscapes that surround Markakol are diverse: there are meadows, mountains, taiga, where more than 700 plant species grow. Brown bears, snow leopards, wolverines, wild boars, wolves, moose and other amazing animals are found here. Winter in this region is very harsh, but in the summer it is always warm and sunny here.
