Azret Sultan Museum-Reserve was founded in 1978 and reorganized in 1989. There are several historical monuments: the world-famous Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Mausoleum of Rabiga Sultan Begim, Hilvet Underground Mosque, and an ancient bathhouse. The museum displays 25 thousand valuable exhibits. Special equipment was installed in the museum to ensure their conservation.
Azret Sultan Museum annually hosts various exhibitions, puts on historical plays. One of the main tasks of the museum is to popularize national history among the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Azret-Sultan Museum remains the most visited museum of Kazakhstan.
