Scientists attribute the formation of a natural monument to the Lower Paleogene period - about 66-41 million years ago, it was then that 75 percent of living organisms, including dinosaurs, died out on the planet.
Precipitation, winds and earthquakes "troubled" to make the Ybykty canyon openwork and elegant. Its vertical surfaces really look like broken pieces of aerated chocolate, and the space around it is lined with amazing labyrinths of passages and arches. In its majesty, depth, beauty and forms, the Kazakh natural masterpiece is comparable to the famous Antelope Canyon in the US state of Arizona.
