Necropolis "Khan Molasy"

Here rests the ashes of the great khan of the younger zhuz Abulkhair, who managed to unite all Kazakh zhuzes into a single nation.

Until the end of the 1990s, this place in Aktobe region It was a large cemetery that arose in the second half of the 18th century. Numerous archaeological studies were carried out at the site of the necropolis in order to prove the authenticity of the burial of Abulkhair Khan in it. In 2011, scientists from Hungary, based on the DNA of the remains of one of the burials, managed to confirm that they corresponded almost 100 percent to the DNA of the direct and living descendants of the Khan. Moreover, the appearance of Abulkhair Khan himself was recreated.

On the occasion of the 550th anniversary of the founding of the Kazakh Khanate in 2015, a memorial complex was built on the site of the Khan Molasy necropolis, including a memorial stele and a tomb mausoleum. The architectural monument is made of white granite and has a height of 25 meters. The mausoleum is decorated with tribal tamgas of the Kazakh people. Three stelae-banners, soaring up in the center of the complex, symbolize the concept of the activity of Abulkhair Khan, who managed to unite the Kazakh zhuzes. In total, there are about 1000 graves in the Khan Molasy necropolis.

The object is considered a sacred place for pilgrimage, and is also one of the most beautiful architectural structures in Kazakhstan with a real historical basis.

It is curious that the grave of the khan became sacred after, after his death, significant events for the people began to take place near it. For example, there was a sudden death of the enemies of the khan himself, and later representatives of two Kazakh clans were able to escape from the jute in the mazar.
