It is the archaeological site with rock paintings.
Near the city of Almaty there is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - petroglyphs within the archaeological landscape of Tanbaly. The historical site with rock paintings was discovered in 1950. Since then hundreds of people interested in ancient carvings have come to see them with their own eyes. Here you can see sun-headed deities of the Andronovo culture (Bronze Age culture that flourished c. 2000-900 BC in Western Siberia and the Central Eurasia). Scenes of hunting and ritual sacrifices are also captured here. The location of the petroglyphs indicates their ritual significance.
The petroglyphs within the archaeological landscape of Tanbaly are of outstanding historical value. All visitors note the incredibly calm atmosphere of this place, that inspires to just sit and contemplate.
