Kapchagay Reservoir

The Kapchagay Reservoir, created in 1970, is an artificial lake. The reservoir not only controls the watercourse of the Ili River, but also acts as a popular destination for beach-goers from the Almaty Province. This place is known to have hot, sunny weather; the water is warm. On the coastal territory there are hotels, recreation areas, cafes. Here you can also rent a yacht or a boat for a water tour. For fishermen there are both rental boats and fishing rods with all the necessary equipment.
