Shymkent Dendrological Park

Outdoor recreation has always been popular among city residents, for it helps to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life and connect with nature. Dendrological Park in Shymkent was established for this very purpose. The park opened in 1979 and since then it has been working towards preserving the nature. Here you can see a great variety of plants and animals, including peacocks, squirrels, and deer. In the center of the park there is a picturesque lake with a catamaran station. The park territory is huge, so there is a bicycle rental and bike paths. Shymkent Dendrological Park can be undoubtedly called the crown jewel of the region and a landmark of Kazakhstan.
