In the 60s of the last century, the historical and revolutionary museum began its work in the land of the Bokeyorda region, which in 2002 turned into a whole historical complex. It is located in the territory, which in the distant 17th century was used as the headquarters of the last khan of the Bukeyev horde, Zhangir. Remarkable is the fact that during the reign of Zhangir the area had urban characteristics, which allowed it to become the main administrative center of the Khanate. The system of a modern historical museum complex includes four diverse museums. They are devoted to the chronicle of the Bukeev Horde, the armory of the Khan's palace, the history of the first school of Kazakhstan and the formation of the country's independence. Also here are the mausoleums of such historical figures as kuishi Dauletkerey Shygayuly, enlightener Mohamed Salyk Babazhanov and Zhangir Khan.
The historical-museum complex “Bukeev Horde” is on the list of sacred objects of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is of great interest to residents and guests of the West Kazakhstan region.
