Caravan saray "Tortkol" is a historical monument in the hilly terrain of the Taraz region, included in the list of tourist sites of the Great Silk Road. It is located within a quadrangular platform measuring 85 by 100 meters. In 1983, the first research works began to be conducted here, and in the period from 2008 to 2011, more than 40 valuable samples of medieval Turkic culture were discovered. According to archaeological excavations, a hotel and baths were located on the territory of the former caravan-saray. The exhibits found also include coins and the remains of ceramic dishes.
