Botai-Burabay Museum
Museum of ethnography and archaeology, dedicated to the Botai culture of the Eneolithic period
Burabay (also known as Borovoe) is a place that never ceases to amaze. There is Botai-Burabay Museum of ethnography and archaeology, dedicated to the Botai culture of the Eneolithic period (c. 3700-3100 BCE). The exhibition contains seven dwellings, which diameter varies from 8 to 10 meters. All homes are connected by underground passages and each carries a certain purpose. For example, in one of the “buildings” fishing master classes are given, and in another one you can see weapons of the Botai period.
The establishing of the Botai-Burabay Museum is timed to the anniversary of the capital and helps preserve the history of the ancient Kazakhstan and raise awareness about it.
