Useful tips for 2020-2021

How to get there

It is best to choose a resort and book your stay there in advance. Most resorts are located on the right bank of the Bukhtarma Reservoir. Many offer a transfer from the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. If you want to get to the shore on your own, then your itinerary will depend on which resort you’ve chosen. If your resort of choice is located in the Blue Bay area or near the village of New Bukhtarma, then follow the Ust-Kamenogorsk-Zyryanovsk highway.

If your resort of choice sits on the shore opposite to the Blue Bay, take the R-157 highway and go from Ust-Kamenogorsk towards the village of Upper Tainty. After passing the village, exit the main road and turn left towards the reservoir. You can also travel from one shore to the other by ferry or boat. However, we recommend that you check this information with the administration of the resort where you plan to spend your vacation.

Food and accommodation

Meals are usually included in the room fare or are offered for an additional fee in all resorts. If you’re planning to camp, it’s best to purchase food in supermarkets in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The shops near the resorts are quite expensive, and in the villages, there may be no variety of products.
