The territories of nature reserves are a habitat for many rare species of birds. Among them are the curly pelican, the long-tailed eagle, the whooper swan and the hissing swan, etc. And the reservoirs of the Teniz-Korgalzhyn lakes system are the haven of the northernmost breeding population of flamingos.
Also, almost half of the species – representatives of the steppe fauna, including saigas, live on the territory of the reserves.
