The Coast of the Balkhash Lake
Sandy beaches and turquoise water make it a perfect summer holiday destination.
Balkhash Lake is one of the largest lakes in Kazakhstan. It is divided into two parts: the western part is fresh water, the eastern one is saline. The length of the lake is 605 kilometers (376 mi). It is surrounded by the Chu-Ili Mountains and the Betpak-Dala steppe. If you stay on one shore, you will never see the opposite - just a barely noticeable line where the water touches the horizon. Unique landscape and plant diversity have always attracted geographers and botanists.
You will always find something to occupy yourself with on Lake Balkhash. There are beautiful clean beaches with fine sand. You can do scuba diving, ride on catamarans, cycle along the shore, and admire the magnificent view of the endless azure surface of the lake. There are also opportunities for fishing and hunting for wild duck or pheasant. On the coastal territory there are numerous small and large hotels or recreation centers. Feel free to visit the gym or paintball fields.
Visit the shore of the Balkhash Lake and see its picturesque views with your own eyes, get tanned almost instantly, and engage in all activities it can offer.
