West Kazakhstan Regional Mosque
A new mosque in Uralsk was opened in November 2005. This is the newest of the three existing mosques in the city. The mosque with a capacity of 1,500 people was built with the participation of several countries. The dome above the main hall of the mosque was assembled from stained glass windows made in Italy, the carpets that covered almost all the halls were imported from France, and white marble, widely used in the decoration of the main fragments, was supplied from China. In the cold season, the mosque turns on the heating system, including floor heating.
