The largest State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan is named in honor of the founder of the Kazakh fine arts - Abylkhan Kasteev. The history of the museum began in 1935, when a Resolution was issued on holding an exhibition dedicated to the Kazakh ASSR. There are more than 25 thousand masterpieces of fine art from different eras, which convey the cultural spirit of Kazakhstan, Russia, the peoples of Asia and Western Europe. The museum has 14 exposition premises, where 1,500 works of prominent Kazakh sculptors and painters are placed: A. Kasteev, K. Telzhanov, A. Stepanov, G. Ismailova, H. Nauryzbayev and unique Sergey Kalmykov, whose skill is glorified throughout the world.
The foundation of the main custodian of creative culture is regularly updated with new works, so every time you come here you will discover again and again something new and unknown, but always insanely exciting.
