Sacred Cave "Akmeshit"
A unique and mysterious place not only of the Turkestan region, but also of the whole of Kazakhstan
A unique and mysterious place not only of the Turkestan region, but also of the whole of Kazakhstan - the cave “Akmeshit”, which in translation from the Kazakh language means “White Mosque”. The charming atmosphere of the area allows you to feel a lot of indescribable emotions. This is due to the fact that the history of the cave has a lot of interesting legends: some say that women and children of the times of the Dzungarian invasion found shelter here, and others even mention an evil dragon in their stories, which was chased away by the prophet Suleiman. Anyway, the environment of “Akmeshit” just will not make you bored.
The sacred cave has a peculiar climate. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is warmer here than outside, and cooler in spring. In addition, trees do not grow in the vicinity of the cave, but inside it there is a so-called “living corner” - a small world, with its own ecosystem. It looks really very unusual, striking the imagination of any tourist.
