Karatau State Nature Reserve
One of the branches of the northwestern Tien Shan.
The “Karatau” Reserve is the newest state reserve with an area of 34,300 hectares, located in the central part of the Karatau ridge, which is one of the branches of the northwestern Tien Shan. In the local mountains you can see a lot of waterfalls, including colorful cascades. Many geographers, botanists, ecologists and other scientific researchers of nature note the peculiarity of the “Karatau” Reserve because of the unique vegetation cover. The territory of “Karatau” has suffered significant changes in the animal world, but there are still rare species of insects, birds and animals, as well as some representatives of the fauna listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan.
Each subject of nature is an integral part of our world, so people should keep and take care of them. For this purpose, the “Karatau” State Nature Reserve was created, where each person can stay in harmony with nature and with himself, also understand the importance of preserving priceless territories, not polluted and not ruined by people.
