Turkistan Regional Museum was opened in 1920. Now there are over 88 thousand valuable exhibits, displayed in four large halls. Each hall is devoted to a particular theme: archeology and paleontology, ethnography, the history of the Kazakh Khanate, and the history of independent Kazakhstan. There is a huge library. Informative lectures and discussions are often held there. The regional museum has 8 branches, including the National Literary and Cultural Museum in Turkistan and the Literary and Memorial Museum of the Turkistan Province.
The collection of the Turkistan Regional Museum of Local History is constantly growing, so each time something new, but very interesting will be waiting for visitors.
