Regional central mosque "Nur Gasyr"
"Nur Gasyr" has an important spiritual significance and is an architectural landmark of the city.
Nur Gasyr mosque was founded in 2008 and at the moment it is the central mosque of the city of Aktobe. The opening ceremony of the Muslim temple was attended by representatives of the Kazakhstan and Russian Governments. The mosque was built thanks to donations of citizens who collected money for almost four years. The project of the "Nur Gasyr" mosque was developed by Aivar Sattarov, the famous author of the central Kazan mosque. The building of the shrine is designed in the form of a square, in the corners of which the 63-meter-high minarets are erected. The magnificent 40-meter dome, decorated with gilding, is located at the central point of the building. Inside the mosque there is a spacious hall designed for 3,000 believers offering their prayers to Allah. The women's hall, which seats about 500 people, is built on the second floor and is located above the main domed hall.
