Valley of Castles "Ayrakty and Shomanay"

Landscapes of Ayrakty Mountains and Shomanay fascinate, give a lot of inexpressible impressions and fall in love with each visitor of the Valley of Mangystau castles

The small Airakty-Shomanai mountain system is an excellent natural landmark, an outstanding symbol of the Mangystau region. Its place name originated in the 19th century, when the Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko, exiled to Kazakhstan, left a series of artistic sketches called "The Valley of Castles". And it is absolutely justified: the rock formations resemble palaces and towers with a fancy structure, making up a fabulous composition that you can admire for hours. The mountains are relict residual formations of the relief of ancient eras. Asian mouflons belong to the bright fauna, and the flora world is rich in delicate Sogdian tulips that bloom in spring and create an amazing pictorial picture.
